DDS, COL, US Army Dental Corps  / James Parker (Platoon Leader )

I recently stumbled onto the Memorial for Paul Cephus as I was looking for information on the Army Hospital at Sagami Ono Japan (June 2009).  I would like to extend my condolences to the family even at this late date.  I met Paul at Ft Hood, TX in the 1/8 Cav, 1st Cav Div in 1977.  I was assigned as the platoon leader of the Medical Platoon for which Paul was the PA.  As a yound second lieutenant fresh from college, we had many hours of talks about medicine, soldiers, leadership, etc.  I tried to draw from him the experiences that he had as an enlisted soldier and as an officer.  I left Ft. Hood in 1979 and became the Chief of Hospital Administration at the Hospital at Sagami Ono Japan until the Army closed the hospital in late 1979.  I had thought of Paul over the years and our talks together, I know that I have learned from him.
